Eleven bands to entertain at Fife Brass Band Festival
Eleven bands will be taking to the stage at this year’s Fife Brass Band Festival which will be held this year in the Lochgelly Centre, Lochgelly, on Saturday 26 April.
The event, which commences at 9.30am (doors open 9.00am), promises to be a great day of music making with something for everyone. The results will be announced at about 5.15-5.30pm and Whitburn Youth Band will entertain while the results are being collated.
Bryan Allen is the music adjudicator this year, with Madelaine Baker and Jill Gillespie the entertainment judges. Compere for the day is Susan Chown.
Each band will play an own-choice 20-minute entertainment programme, which should include a solo item.
There will be an award for the most entertaining band and for the best soloist. Trophies and vouchers will be presented to the best band in each section. The bands placed first, second and third overall will each receive a trophy and cheque.
